Hyundai’s Hope On Wheels

September is known as National Childhood Cancer month and every year, Hyundai does its part to help medical professionals and researchers fight cancer. This year, through their charity event, Hyundai’s Hope On Wheels awarded a substantial grant to a San Diego hospital. The grant was presented on September 9th at the Handprint Ceremony.

Hyundai’s Hope On Wheels rolled out the $150,000 grant to Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego. The grant will be used to expand knowledge of pediatric cancer and improve care around the country. Rady Children’s hospital was one of 10 recipients to receive the $150,000 Young Investigator Grant.

“Although there remains a lot more work to be done, the innovation that comes from this research will ultimately help us find a cure. To all the kids, families and cancer researchers fighting this terrible disease – you are not alone and we remain committed to this important cause,” said Dave Zuchowski, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America.

The grant was presented during the Handprint Ceremony where young cancer patients put their handprints on a white 2016 Hyundai Tucson.

The $150,000 Young Investigator Grant is just a small part of the more than $13 million Hyundai Hope On Wheels will award throughout 2016.
