2016 International Design Excellence Award Goes to Hyundai Elantra

Recently, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra was recognized with the 2016 International Design Excellence (IDEA) Bronze award in the Automotive & Transportation category. The Elantra was recognized because of its unique and aerodynamic design.

In this year’s IDEA competition, there were more than 1,700 design project from more than 30 countries. Over 600 finalists project were gathered at the Henry Ford Museum between June 3rd and 6th. There, a team of global design experts judged the project and chose 26 Gold awards, 47 Silver awards, and 63 Bronze awards.

The project were chosen from a wide range of categories, including medical and scientific innovations, transportation, personal accessories, sporting goods, children’s projects, and more.

“This top honor for the 2017 Elantra shows that Hyundai is committed to creating bold and extraordinary designs,” said Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer of Hyundai Motor Group. “This award for the 2017 Elantra makes us proud and is a great recognition for our design leadership.”

Some of the IDEA 2016 winners will be on display at the Henry Ford Museum through August 17th. If you happen to be heading north to Michigan later this month, swing by the museum and see some of the most remarkable designs for products from all around the world.
